Most Congress Members Ready to Approve Aid to Ukraine: White House
Most American congress members are prepared to approve the funding bill for Ukraine, provided Speaker of the House Mike Johnson brings it to a vote, said Jake Sullivan, the National Security Advisor to the President of the United States.
“The reality is that Russian President Vladimir Putin wins every day that Ukraine does not get the resources it needs, and Ukraine suffers. There is a solid bipartisan majority in the House ready to accept this bill if it is put to a vote, and that decision can be made by one person,” he stated in an interview with CNN.
The White House criticizes Republican Johnson for sending the House on a two-week recess until the end of February instead of fast-tracking the $60 billion aid package for Ukraine.
