Major Fire in the Hrazdan Gorge
Today, on February 25, a major fire broke out in Yerevan. For over 1.5 hours, the firefighters of the Yerevan Fire and Rescue Unit No. 5 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, along with police patrol officers from the first battalion of the Yerevan Police Patrol Service led by Commander Gevorg Torosyan, have been battling the fire that erupted in the grassy area and near trees, risking their lives near the "Florence" restaurant complex in the Hrazdan gorge.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the flames and smoke are visible from several hundred meters away, and certain areas are quite difficult to access; however, it seems that the firefighters and patrol officers have managed to prevent the spread of the fire. Fortunately, there are no reported injuries based on preliminary information.
The area has been cordoned off by the patrol officers, and the movement of vehicles has been temporarily restricted. Firefighting efforts are currently ongoing.
