Snow in Kapan: What is the Situation on the Roads

The Emergency Service reports that there are closed roads in the territory of Armenia. Until March 5, due to road repair works, the section of the M-6 highway between Vanadzor and Alaverdi (approximately 38-40 km) will be closed for buses and heavy vehicles with trailers or semi-trailers. An alternative route will be available via the town of Noyemberyan.

In the Aragatsotn region, the roads from the 'Amberd' High Mountain Meteorological Station to Amberd Fortress and to Kari Lake are also closed.

In the city of Kapan, snow is falling in the Gorayk-Zanger area. According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to use winter tires exclusively.
