At least 20 poisoned after dining at Juli's café

Dozens of citizens are reporting severe food poisoning after dining at Juli's café. This information has been reported by Hetq, citing customers who frequented the café.

The media outlet stated that all patients had consumed salmon benedict at Juli's café, after which their health deteriorated sharply.

“Some of the poisoned individuals were hospitalized due to acute poisoning and received inpatient treatment. All poisoned citizens reported similar symptoms: high fever, nausea, vomiting, severe abdominal pain, and diarrhea,” Hetq confirmed that there are at least 20 cases of poisoning.

Some of the citizens who underwent testing were diagnosed with salmonellosis,” the media continued.

“Before us, there were two other people in the hospital who had ordered the same thing from the café, and two women were brought in after us, in the same condition. You know, when the doctor found out they were poisoned after eating at Juli's, he jokingly said, 'Let me guess, you had salmon benedict',” a patient named Aurika told the media.

The National Center for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDCP) informed the media that they received reports of the poisonings on Friday, February 9. Samples of eggs, fish, and salmon benedict have been sent for laboratory examination. Results are expected by February 14.

The NCDCP also reported to Hetq that six individuals had presented to the infectious disease hospital, and all were diagnosed with salmonellosis after testing. Four citizens sought treatment on February 8, and two on the 9th. “According to our information, in addition to the infectious disease hospital, poisoned individuals have received treatment in other hospitals as well. Essentially, some of the poisoned patients were treated at home,” the media wrote.

Angelika Ishkhanyan, the owner of Juli's café, stated that after receiving reports of poisoning from citizens, they ceased serving salmon benedict starting from February 8. One of the poisoned citizens, Tatev Badalyan, had ordered salmon benedict for delivery on the morning of February 8. The delivery receipt is attached below.

“It’s noteworthy that Ida Hakobyan, whose daughter-in-law was also poisoned, wrote that the poisoning occurred on February 8,” the media reported.
