Over 50 Criminal Cases Under Investigation Regarding Military Aid to Ukraine: Pentagon
Fraud, product substitution, and theft cases have been revealed during procurement for Ukraine, but overall, the Pentagon has effectively carried out the supply issue for the Ukrainian armed forces, believes Pentagon Inspector General Robert Storch.
The official stated that prosecutors are investigating over 50 criminal cases related to assistance sent to Ukraine, with no charges currently filed, according to Bloomberg.
Additionally, some declarations for shipments sent through Poland were not properly completed. He warned that more cases related to corruption will likely emerge, considering the volume and speed of arms deliveries to Ukraine.
Political scientist Marat Bashirov predicts that Republicans will demand accountability from the Pentagon regarding the amount of money and the list of weapons before they return to Biden's request for financial assistance for Ukraine.
