Lionel Messi Recognized as the Most Famous Athlete in the USA

The Argentine, who joined Inter Miami in the summer of 2023, ranks first according to a study organized by SSRS. For nearly 30 years, the company has asked respondents every month to name their favorite professional athlete and then compiles the results quarterly.

Prior to Messi's move to MLS, only seven athletes had held the top spot at different times: Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Peyton Manning, Kobe Bryant, Stephen Curry, LeBron James, and Tom Brady.

In the fourth quarter of 2023, Messi became the most sought-after athlete and the first football player to top the rankings. In the first quarter of 2023, the leader was Brady, followed by Jordan in second and third place.

Additionally, in the latest surveys, Inter Miami ranks fourth among football clubs overall. Only Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Manchester United are more famous than it in the USA.
