Snowfall in Armenia: Current Situation on Roads
The Rescue Service informs that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of Armenia. Until March 5, due to road repair works, the section of the M-6 highway from Vanadzor to Alaverdi, approximately between kilometers 38-40, will be closed for buses and truck trailers or semi-trailers. An alternative route will operate through the town of Noyemberyan.
Roads leading from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region to Amberd Fortress and Kari Lake are closed. The Dilijan serpentine roads are difficult for trucks with trailers to navigate. Snow is falling in the areas of Dilijan, Noyemberyan, Berd, Jermuk, Vanadzor, as well as in the regions of Stepanavan, Tashir, Spitak, Aparan, Aragats, Hrazdan, Charentsavan, and Tsaghkadzor.
Regarding the Lars border crossing, according to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Emergency Situations Ministry of North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
