Plans to Present Armenia's Job Vacancies to Indian Citizens
During his visit to India, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Narek Mkrtchyan, met with the CEO of the National Skills Development Corporation, Ved Mani Tiwari. The Armenian Ambassador to India, Vahagn Afyan, also participated in the discussion.
According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia, the meeting focused on several issues related to cooperation in social protection, particularly in the fields of employment and labor. The parties also addressed the commitments made under the memorandum of cooperation signed in 2022, emphasizing the importance of implementing practical steps in line with the provisions outlined in the document.
Minister Mkrtchyan highlighted the necessity of cooperation in the field of labor migration and proposed examining the development of necessary regulations to ensure the employment of Indians arriving in Armenia. In this context, the idea of establishing a relevant platform was discussed, which would allow for the recruitment of Indian labor while also presenting available job vacancies in Armenia through the Unified Social Service.
It has been noted that the CEO of the National Skills Development Corporation also emphasized the importance of joint efforts in the field of labor migration. Ved Mani Tiwari suggested implementing a program for job-seeking citizens of India with the support of the Armenian Embassy, which would provide an overview of Armenia’s legal framework, job opportunities, and more.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to expedite the discussed issues in a short period of time.
