A new publication has emerged online, evidencing another instance of cultural vandalism carried out by Azerbaijanis. This is reported by the Scientific Research Center for Cultural Heritage.

According to the publication, construction and renovation works are set to take place in the vicinity of the St. Gregory and St. Sarkis Churches in the village of Tsar, Karvachar region (the churches are referred to as Alvank in the source material).

Photographs reveal that construction work has already commenced at the church site. The cross of St. Sarkis Church has been removed, one of the stone inscriptions is missing, and remnants of khachkars (cross-stones) are also absent from the church grounds.

In the area of St. Gregory Church, demolitions of extensions made by a Turkified Kurdish family up until 1993 have also taken place.
