French Defense Minister to Visit Armenia for the First Time in History

The French Defense Minister, Sébastien Lecornu, will soon visit Armenia. He announced this during a broadcast on RTL radio.

“I will travel to Armenia with a large delegation of parliamentarians and business leaders. This is the first time in history that a French Defense Minister is visiting Armenia,” he said.

According to him, “Armenia is facing serious security challenges, including issues related to sovereignty and border protection, which are connected to threats from Azerbaijan.”

“It is our responsibility to assist Armenia, particularly in enhancing its defense capabilities. That is why France is supplying military equipment to Armenia, a friendly country, solely for defensive purposes,” the Defense Minister emphasized.

He noted that the supplies include “ground-to-air type” defensive systems and armored vehicles.
