Brazil Refuses to Refuel Lavrov's Aircraft
Today, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrived at the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro aboard a government aircraft. From there, he was supposed to fly to Brazil to meet with President Lula da Silva.
However, Lavrov's aircraft ran out of fuel, and Brazilian operators refused to refuel it to avoid potential secondary sanctions from the United States.
Lavrov was offered to fly as a 'passenger' on the plane of Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira. Another Russian aircraft will pick up Lavrov from Brazil.
