Turkey's Transport Minister Discusses Route Through Armenia
Turkey's Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, discussed the transport hub connecting Azerbaijan to Nakhchivan and Turkey through Armenian territory.
In response to a journalist's question, the Turkish minister emphasized that there are two alternative routes. “You know how work is being done on this route through Armenia. It spans 43 km. If there is a problem on the Armenian side, Azerbaijan is also in discussions with Iran regarding the possibility of a corridor through Iranian territory. Therefore, there are two alternatives, and both alternatives are currently under discussion,” he stated.
Uraloğlu noted that Azerbaijan continues its construction work: “At this moment, the Azerbaijani side is continuing construction. A tender has been announced for the route concerning Nakhchivan and our segment. A 106 km long road will be restored or reconstructed,” the minister added.
