Strike Called at Airports in Germany
The German Verdi union has called for a strike by the ground staff of the country's largest airline, Lufthansa, on February 20 across seven airports, as reported by Associated Press on Sunday.
The strike will last for one day and will affect airports in Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Cologne, and Stuttgart. It will begin on February 20 at 4:00 AM local time (7:00 AM Yerevan time) and will continue until 7:10 AM on February 21 (10:10 AM Yerevan time).
A similar strike took place earlier in February at five German airports, resulting in the cancellation of hundreds of flights. The union demands a wage increase of 12.5% for ground staff, or at least 500 euros per month. Negotiations with the company last week yielded no results. The next round of talks is scheduled for February 21.
