For us, it's a matter of life and death: Putin
Everything happening in the Ukrainian direction is a matter of life and death for Russia; it is the fate of the country, while for the West, it is merely a question of their tactical position. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin in an interview with Pavel Zarubin, a segment of which was published on the journalist's Telegram channel. The information is provided by RIA Novosti.
“I believe that it is important for both us and, even more so, for foreign listeners and audiences to understand the course of our thoughts, understand our situation, and understand how sensitive and crucial this is for our country, everything occurring in the Ukrainian direction. And I think that we need to understand what is happening in Ukraine. For them, it is about improving their tactical position. But for us, it is a matter of fate, a matter of life and death,” Putin stated. Thus, the President responded to a question regarding the historical context of his recent interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson.
“I wanted people who would hear this to understand it. Whether I succeeded or not, I do not judge,” Putin added.
