China Will Not Use Nuclear Weapons Against States Without Them: Chinese Foreign Ministry

China has no intention of being the first to use nuclear weapons against anyone, including Ukraine. This statement was made by China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The information was reported by TASS.

“We have clearly stated to the world that China will not use nuclear weapons against states that do not have them,” he emphasized at the Munich Security Conference. “We do not wish for China to use nuclear weapons against states that do not possess them. We also will not be the first to use nuclear weapons against any country, including Ukraine,” he said.

The Chinese Foreign Minister reminded that China's top leadership is opposed to the use of nuclear weapons and the unleashing of wars with their assistance. He noted that Beijing fulfills its international obligations by contributing to the assurance of universal security.
