Mass Protest Demonstrations in Moscow: Prosecutor's Office Issues Warning
The Moscow Prosecutor's Office has issued a warning regarding calls for mass protests. The agency explained that the events announced following the death of opposition leader Alexei Navalny have not been coordinated with city authorities.
"In connection with the spread of calls for a mass action in the center of Moscow with an indeterminate number of participants on the internet, including social networks, the Moscow Prosecutor's Office deems it necessary to warn about the inadmissibility of violations of the law," the prosecutor's office stated in a message.
On the afternoon of February 16, news was reported about the death of Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny. According to official information, Navalny deteriorated while on a walk and lost consciousness. Doctors recorded his death, noting that he had not reported any health complaints.
