Weightlifter Gor Sahakyan Becomes European Champion for the Second Time

In the third day of the weightlifting European Championship held in Sofia, Bulgaria, the Armenian team saw Gor Sahakyan, competing in the 67 kg weight category, achieve a total lift of 311 kg, earning him the title of double champion at the European Championship.

In the clean and jerk event, Gor successfully lifted 171 kg, securing a small gold medal, while in the snatch category, he claimed a small bronze medal. It is worth noting that Gor Sahakyan was also victorious at the European Championship held in Yerevan in 2023.

This marked Armenia's second gold medal at the weightlifting European Championship that started in Bulgaria. Yesterday, the title of European champion was awarded to 19-year-old Aleksandra Grigoryan as well.
