We Can Talk About a Number of Positive Changes: Erdoğan
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan believes that Washington has a positive disposition towards selling F-16 fighter jets to Ankara. Erdoğan's remarks are cited by the Turkish Anadolu agency. This information is reported by gazeta.ru.
“We can talk about a number of positive changes following the steps taken between Turkey and the USA,” Erdoğan stated, emphasizing that there is no negative trend regarding the sale of F-16s to Turkey.
The Turkish leader pointed out that Ankara is being informed about this issue in the USA. Previously, the Turkish Hürriyet newspaper reported that the delivery of the new light F-16 fighter jets requested by Turkey from the USA could be delayed by 4-5 years due to the large number of orders.
Journalists reminded that on February 11, discussions in the US Congress regarding the sale of F-16 aircraft to Turkey were concluded, after which the deal was officially approved by American lawmakers.
