A Sniper Worked on Everyone: Sasun Mikayelyan on the 4 Victims and Injured in Nerkin Hand

A sniper worked on everyone in Nerkin Hand, said Sasun Mikayelyan, president of the Union of Volunteer Soldiers (UVS), in an interview with Azatutyun today.

"What is happening in the battlefield... an investigation is underway, it will become clear later; I will only say that a sniper worked on everyone," Mikayelyan stated without sharing further details.

On the morning of February 13, as a result of Azerbaijani fire directed at Armenian positions in Nerkin Hand, the Armenian side suffered 4 fatalities and 1 injury. The four deceased and the one injured are members of the UVS.

Baku announced that it had conducted an operation named "Retribution." The day before, the Azerbaijani side reported that Armenian armed forces had opened fire in the direction of positions in the Zangezur region, claiming that as a result of the firing, an Azerbaijani border guard was injured.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan described the events in Nerkin Hand as another manifestation of Azerbaijan's destructive policy during today’s government meeting.
