Turkish Cargo Ship Sinks in Marmara Sea
A Turkish-flagged cargo ship has sunk in the Marmara Sea, with six crew members onboard. Rescue operations have commenced to locate them, as reported by Bursa Governor Mahmut Demirtaş, near the area of the incident. This information was conveyed by TASS.
“The 69-meter Batuhan cargo ship was carrying six people, all of whom are Turkish citizens. Search and rescue operations have started,” he stated. According to him, the alert about the incident was received around 06:20 local time this morning. Three rescue vessels and a helicopter from the coast guard have been dispatched to the site. The search for the crew members has been hampered by strong waves, the governor added.
