The School in Nerkhin Hand is Under Azerbaijani Armed Fire, Mines have been Installed: Tatoyan
What does it mean that there will be legal consequences for soldiers? Is this a statement from the government leader? This was stated by Armenia's former Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan on his Facebook page, addressing the events in Nerkhin Hand and the government's responses.
“Instead of saying that Azerbaijani armed forces have invaded our territory, entered the village of Nerkhin Hand, surrounded it from three sides, and are constantly firing at the villages, keeping people in fear, it has been said that self-defending soldiers from the Azerbaijani military will be held accountable. Are the authorities unaware that the school in Nerkhin Hand is under Azerbaijani armed fire and that mines have been planted, causing even the few surviving pets to perish due to explosions? What’s the result? It seems that Azerbaijani soldiers are sitting quietly in their territory, and suddenly shots are fired from Armenia. These incidents are happening in some mountains, not on our land and not inside our village.
I have repeatedly pointed out that any presence of Azerbaijani armed servicemen near our settlements (let alone their invasions) is initially illegal and criminal. The Armed Forces of Armenia, including border troops and police, protect the lives and health of our people at every moment. Their actions are legal from the outset and are aimed at protecting the residents. This should be the agenda and belief of the Armenian side, not what is dictated by Azerbaijan,” he wrote.
