Iran Opposes Presence of Other Countries in the Region: Raisi to Grigoryan
Iran is against the presence of other countries in the region under the pretext of solving issues. This statement was made by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi during a meeting with Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan.
This was reported by the Iranian news agency Irna. The delegation led by Mher Grigoryan visited Iran to participate in the 18th session of the intergovernmental joint commission between the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
“We believe that their presence will not only fail to solve the problem but will instead become a greater problem for us,” said the Iranian president. Raisi also emphasized Iran's importance in maintaining regional stability and security.
He expressed support for peaceful negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and added that Iran is ready to guarantee the strategic security of the Caucasus region.
The interlocutors also discussed the development of trade-economic relations and elevating them to the level of current political relations.
