Miller Refuses to Comment on Continuation of Armenian-Azerbaijani Talks Without Mediators
The United States believes that the best way to resolve relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan is through dialogue. This was stated by U.S. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller.
“We obviously support ongoing dialogue on this issue. We believe it is the best way to achieve a sustainable resolution of the conflict, and we will continue to advocate for that,” Miller told reporters during a briefing.
At the same time, the spokesperson declined to comment on a reporter's question about the parties attempting to continue the negotiation process without mediators.
Despite the efforts of the Armenian side and international actors to achieve peace in the South Caucasus, the Azerbaijani side has launched another act of aggression against Armenia. Starting from 05:30 on February 13, Azerbaijani armed forces opened fire on Armenian positions located in the Nerkin Hand area, resulting in 2 fatalities and injuries on the Armenian side.
