During the Entire War, They Did Nothing But 'Push the Sofa,' Avinyan

During the 2020 44-day war, the official numbers of casualties announced correspond to reality. This was stated by Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan during a session of the city council in response to a question from city council member Armenak Danielyan of the 'Mother Armenia' faction about how many victims Yerevan had in that war.

“Your political team inflated the number of casualties in the 2020 44-day war in such an ugly, disgusting, and manipulative way, mainly by those 'sofa pushers' who did nothing other than push their sofas during the entire war. The enthusiasm with which they added those thousands was so revolting that it made one sick to walk the same streets as such people,” said Tigran Avinyan.

When asked whether a cross-stone or memorial would be erected in Yerevan dedicated to the heroes who fell in battle, Avinyan responded, “Today we have various monuments dedicated to our boys in different administrative districts. I also want to inform you that we are constructing a large park dedicated to the soldiers who fell in the 44-day war.”
