In a Few Years, We Will Have a Highly Capable, Modern Army: Armen Khachatryan

In the defense industry, we are witnessing transformative changes; today, we have weaponry that is produced in Armenia. This was stated by MP Armen Khachatryan in an interview with Azatutyun.

“These weapons may belong to the 4th or 5th generation, and there are developed countries that do not even manufacture such weaponry. If this pace is maintained, in 1-2 years we will have high-tech achievements that will be known worldwide as Armenian advancements, particularly in the military and defense technology sector,” he said. “Of course, Armenia is a small country, not everything can be produced here, but we tend to manufacture equipment that is cutting-edge, solves more issues, and is produced with the application of high technologies. Naturally, everything cannot remain hidden for long, but at this moment, the right approach is to do a lot of work and speak less,” he added, noting that a new momentum has been given to the defense industry.

The MP mentioned ongoing projects for the production of drones that are in the implementation phase. “Azerbaijan and Turkey are arming themselves, and taking all this into account, we understand the challenges ahead and are undertaking commensurate measures. In a few years, we will have a highly capable, modern army, and in the coming years, Armenian products will already be well-known in international markets,” stated the MP.
