The Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation has launched two criminal cases regarding the illegal removal of 59 aircraft and helicopters from Russian jurisdiction, according to sources from Izvestia. It is believed that the Il-76 and Mi-8 aircraft have been sold. The helicopters, as reported by the newspaper, have been used by Ukraine in military operations against Russia, while the planes have delivered cargo with transponders switched off.
The individual involved in the case may be Alexander Neradko, the former head of the Federal Air Transport Agency. According to Izvestia, searches took place on February 7 at the central office of the Federal Air Transport Agency located on Leningradsky Prospekt in Moscow. Documents were seized from the offices of Christina Bivalina, the acting head of the Flight Safety Supervisory Division, and Petr Kozirev, the deputy head of the State Registration Division for Civil Aircraft, their Rights, and Transactions.
