Employee of 'Armavir' Penitentiary Arrested

Within the framework of combating the illegal circulation of prohibited items, associated with the involvement of prison staff and the abuse of official position, on February 11 at approximately 09:40, the officers of the 'Armavir' regional department of the Ministry of Justice's penitentiary service conducted a search in a residential area on the basis of operational information received.

The search targeted Kh.M., a leading specialist in the security department of the same penitentiary. According to information from the Penitentiary Service, the officers discovered three mobile phones equipped with SIM cards during the search.

As a result of explanatory work conducted by the officers, Kh.M. confessed that one of the discovered phones was for his personal use, while the other two were to be transferred to the detained person M.G. for a sum of money.

Kh.M. was arrested by the operational officers and presented to the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
