Elon Musk Denies Sale of Starlink Terminals to Russia

SpaceX has not sold Starlink satellite communication terminals directly or indirectly to Russia, said the company's founder Elon Musk. He called reports from the media false.

“This is completely false. To our knowledge, Starlink has not been sold directly or indirectly to Russia,” Musk wrote on his social media platform, X.

Last week, Defense One reported that Russian troops are utilizing Starlink communication services. It was believed that the Russian army began using the system several months ago. In February, Starlink had already announced that SpaceX does not conduct any business with the Russian government or military.

Ukraine is using Starlink terminals along the entire front line, stated the head of Ukraine’s military intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, in the fall of 2023. Kyiv received thousands of terminals after Russia deployed troops in February 2022.
