Runner Yervand Mkrtchyan Wins Gold Medal in Istanbul, Defeating Two Turkish Competitors

Runner Yervand Mkrtchyan has won a gold medal at the Balkan countries' winter championship taking place in Istanbul, finishing ahead of two representatives from Turkey. This was reported by Armsport.am.

The Armenian athletics team traveled to the competition under the leadership of Grigor Bars outlined in their journey, including triple jumpers Levon Aghasyan and Gor Hovakimyan, runners Roman Aleksanyan, Ellada Alaverdyan, Gayane Chiloyan, long jumpers Yana Sargsyan and Gor Beglaryan among the squad.

If the Armenian athletes achieve appropriate results, they will have the right to participate in the World Winter Qualification Championship, to be held in Glasgow from March 1-3.
