UN Secretary-General Acknowledges Iran's Constructive Role in the Region

UN Secretary-General António Guterres, commenting on the rising tensions and concerns regarding the spread of conflicts in the region following the war between Gaza and Israel, and the US support for Tel Aviv, stated that Iran plays a "constructive role" in regional events.

“I think it is very important to have a constructive role that Iran can play,” he said at a press conference. Guterres called on Iran to do everything possible to prevent the spread of tension in the region.

He also emphasized that “we all need to do everything we can to stabilize and reduce tensions in the region and in the Red Sea.”
