Meta Blocks Iranian Supreme Leader's Social Media Accounts

Meta has blocked the accounts of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on Facebook and Instagram due to posts that violate the platform's guidelines. This information was reported by CNN.

“Instagram and Facebook have deleted the accounts of Iran's spiritual leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei amid escalating conflicts in the Middle East,” the broadcaster noted.

The report states that Khamenei published messages on his social media in support of the Palestinian Hamas movement and against Israel.

It was highlighted that Meta's policy prohibits organizations or individuals from inciting violence. The ban also applies to anyone who glorifies, supports, or represents organizations designated as terrorist by the U.S. government, the broadcaster added.

Previously, it had been revealed that the Iranian leader ordered to avoid military confrontation with the United States. Earlier, Khamenei had called on Arab countries to sever ties with Israel.
