If There Are Reciprocal Steps, We Will Further Regulate Bilateral Relations with Tbilisi - Zakharova
Moscow aims to further regulate bilateral relations with Tbilisi if there are reciprocal steps. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, commenting on the results of the development of relations in 2023 with the CIS member countries, including Georgia, Abkhazia, and South Ossetia.
TASS reports that she said, “Last year, the Georgian leadership pursued a pragmatic line towards Russia, for their part, they canceled the visa regime for short-term travel for Georgian citizens that had been in effect since 2000 and resumed direct flights, which facilitated interactions between people and contributed to the expansion of trade and economic ties.”
“We are pleased with the results of joint work with our neighbors, partners, and allies on such an important strategic direction for Russia as the Commonwealth of Independent States,” she added.
