A French man has spent 8 years constructing a replica of the Eiffel Tower out of matches. This is reported by LADBible, citing gazeta.ru.
Richard Claude revealed that he required 700,000 matches to create the wooden replica of the iconic structure. He hoped that his effort would earn him a place in the Guinness World Records, but his application was rejected.
The committee informed him that he had used the wrong type of matches for his project. “As stated in the guidelines, the matches used must be commercially available. They concluded that my matches are not for sale,” Richard explained regarding the rejection.
