The Number of Those Departing Armenia Exceeded Arrivals Last Year

In the period from January to December last year, different countries saw the arrival of 4 million 764 thousand 274 citizens to Armenia, while 4 million 793 thousand 768 people crossed the border in the opposite direction. Among those arriving, 1 million 972 thousand 135 were Armenian citizens, and among those departing, 2 million 8 thousand 647 were also from Armenia. These figures were presented by the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

The number of departures exceeded the arrivals by 29 thousand 494. During the same period, the number of Armenian citizens leaving the country exceeded those arriving by 36 thousand 512. This trend was also observed in 2022, when the difference was 27 thousand 941.

In 2022, 3 million 394 thousand 371 citizens entered Armenia with various passports, while the number of departures was 3 million 355 thousand 639, including 1 million 479 thousand 798 arrivals and 1 million 507 thousand 739 departures with Armenian passports.

The majority of people arrived in Armenia through the “Zvartnots” International Airport (2 million 537 thousand 576), the Bagratashen border checkpoint (1 million 401 thousand 232), the Bavra checkpoint (341 thousand 247), and the Meghri checkpoint (308 thousand 690).
