Mother Armenia to Fight Against City Transport Price Increases

The Mother Armenia faction has issued a statement regarding the decision to strip opposition members of the Yerevan City Council of their mandates. In an extraordinary session of the Yerevan City Council, it was decided to strip Sona Aghekyan, Narine Hayrapetyan, representing the Mother Armenia faction, and Hayk Marutyan from the 'National Progress' faction of their city council memberships. This decision was made through the joint actions of the 'Civil Contract' party and its associated factions, 'Republic' and 'Public Voice,' involving the infamous two individuals detained.

It is evident that we are dealing with clandestine and illegal processes. There is also a blatant manifestation of political persecution against Mother Armenia.

Mother Armenia condemns the despicable, illegitimate, and anti-democratic decision to strip council members of their mandates and will contest it in court. This government has once again shown that it has inherited all the bad habits recorded in newly independent Armenia and has exhausted its resources.

We condemn the ruling faction's decision, which has evidently been made in favor of increasing the city transport fares. Mother Armenia will fight against the increase in city transport and other service prices, doing everything possible to prevent these from being implemented and to protect the interests of citizens.

We will also not allow changes to the constitution dictated by Aliyev's agenda, which are being carried out for the destruction of the foundations of our statehood and could lead to a new genocide.

We will continue our actions aimed at the removal of the government led by Nikol Pashinyan at both local and national levels. This is a struggle for the existence of our people and statehood.
