On Sunday evening, two powerful storms struck California, causing flooding across the state. The National Weather Service in Los Angeles reported an "extremely dangerous situation" in the Hollywood Hills area, as well as near the Santa Monica Mountains, where landslides were anticipated.
More than 800,000 people were left without electricity, and evacuation orders were issued for residents in several cities. According to CNN, there remains a risk of home flooding in the southern U.S. as the rainfall could continue until Tuesday.
This was the rainiest day in the Los Angeles area in the past 20 years.
