Identity of the Victims of Explosion in Nor Arenj Revealed: They Were a Married Couple

According to preliminary information, the victims of the explosion that occurred on Street 34 in Nor Arenj were a married couple, Hayk Sogomonian and Gayane Yeghoyan. This was stated by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Narek Sargsyan, during a conversation with reporters.

“Neighbors mentioned that they were residents of the adjacent house. Specialized equipment was used to lift the debris, as a roof had collapsed in that specific area,” he said.

It is noteworthy that today, on February 5, at 11:36 AM, the National Crisis Management Center received an alert about an explosion on Street 34 in Yerevan’s Nor Arenj.

Rescuers first retrieved R.N. (born in 1938) and H.S. (born in 1994) from the rubble, both of whom were hospitalized. Doctors assessed R.N.'s condition as satisfactory, while H.S.'s condition was critical. Later, rescuers managed to rescue two more individuals: one man and one woman.
