One of Tigran Avinyan's Close Associates Dismissed
The newspaper 'Hraparak' reports: 'It became known yesterday that Yakov Asatryan, the head of the Urban Development and Land Control Department of the Yerevan City Hall, has been dismissed from his position. Sources from the City Hall indicate that Asatryan was not dismissed for another appointment; rather, law enforcement agencies have made specific revelations in the field he oversaw during his short tenure.
Asatryan is known to be close to Mayor Tigran Avinyan, which is why he was appointed to one of the most intriguing positions within the City Hall last June. Previously, he held the position of head of the Health Department of the Yerevan City Hall, and then was appointed as acting head of the Urban Development and Land Control Department before being confirmed after the elections.
The City Hall believes that there will be further dismissals as well.'
