Borrell Arrives in Kyiv

On Tuesday morning, February 6, the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, arrived in Kyiv. His visit aims to discuss the EU's ongoing security commitments to Kyiv, reports Обозреватель.

It is known that on his way to Ukraine, Borrell stopped in Warsaw to "consult with Polish friends to better understand what is happening in Ukraine and how they can continue their support." During meetings at the Polish Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense, he discussed all forms of assistance provided to Ukraine, including military, financial, and reconstruction aid, sanctions against Russia, and international solidarity, as well as the use of frozen Russian assets.

EU member states have agreed that they must support Ukraine. According to him, this is not just a matter of time, quantity, and quality of supplies. He emphasized that the EU must do more and faster, as Ukraine needs to win its fight, among other things, for European security.

"I am going to Ukraine to discuss the EU's ongoing commitment to security obligations. At that time, we had already held numerous consultations with Ukraine on this issue," the EU’s top representative said.
