Social Support to be Provided for Blast Victims

The assessment of the needs of those affected by the explosion in the Nor Aresh neighborhood of Yerevan will be clear tomorrow, February 6. This was stated by Yerevan Deputy Mayor Sargis Madatyan in a conversation with Sputnik Armenia, adding that city hall employees are currently cataloging the material damages and needs of citizens at the scene in cooperation with representatives from the Erebuni administrative district.

"By 11:00 tomorrow, we will have a complete understanding of the needs and will be able to determine what support we can provide to the affected families," said Madatyan.

As for what social support will be offered to the victims, the deputy mayor deemed it premature to discuss, suggesting to wait until the needs assessment process is complete.

He also reported that medical assistance and healthcare services are being provided to the citizens affected by the explosion under the state procurement framework.

It is worth noting that an explosion occurred today around 11:30 in the 34th street of Nor Aresh in the Erebuni administrative district of Yerevan, resulting in the complete collapse of houses number 43 and 27a on 34th street, with several other structures also damaged. There are 2 fatalities and 2 injured.
