Emergency Services Complete Operations at Explosion Site in Nor Aresh Neighborhood

The functions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were to eliminate the consequences and provide assistance to the victims; we have completed our operations. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kamo Tsutsulyan during a briefing with journalists at the site of the explosion in the Nor Aresh neighborhood of Yerevan.

"There is no hypothesis; I cannot provide a hypothesis. An explosion occurred, and there are casualties; we have carried out our work," he said.

When asked if a gas leak could have occurred, Tsutsulyan replied that this would be clarified as a result of the investigation.

It should be noted that a call was received at the National Crisis Management Center at 11:36 AM today reporting that an explosion had taken place on 34th Street in Nor Aresh, Yerevan. Two citizens, one woman and one man, were rescued from the rubble and have been hospitalized. Shortly after, two bodies were recovered from the debris. Their identities are known.
