Current Situation on Armenia's Roads

The Rescue Service reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of the Republic of Armenia.

Due to road repair works, the Vanadzor-Alaverdi section of the M-6 highway will be closed for buses and cargo vehicles with trailers from the 38th to the 40th km until February 15. An alternative road will operate through the town of Novembro.

In the Aragatsotn region, the roads leading from the ‘Amberd’ high-altitude meteorological station to the Amberd Fortress and the Kari Lake are closed.

The Vardenyats Pass and the road from Kapan city to ‘Zanger’ are closed (due to blizzard) for heavy vehicles and are difficult to navigate for other types of transport.

The serpentine roads of Stepanavan are difficult to navigate for heavy vehicles.

According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
