Armen Galjyan on Reports of Transportation Fare Increasing to 260 Drams

The circulated reports stating that the transportation fare is set to become 260 drams are false. This was reported by the leader of the "Civil Contract" faction of the Yerevan Council, Armen Galjyan.

"A unified ticketing system project is currently being circulated in Yerevan City Hall, which proposes various fare packages: single, daily, and weekly tickets for tourists, as well as monthly, quarterly, and annual tickets for daily commuters. There will also be special fares for pensioners, students, and other groups. If the project is approved, the unified ticketing system will come into effect in the autumn of 2024 when the new 171 buses will hit the routes. You can find the complete project on the yerevan.am website," he stated.

It is reminded that earlier, Gevorg Stepanyan, a member of the "Mother Armenia" faction, had indicated that a decision is being discussed to increase public transportation prices in Yerevan, with the proposed increase reaching up to 260 drams.
