Video: Airplane Skids Off Runway During Landing at Vilnius Airport
The international airport of Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, was closed for three hours after a passenger plane arriving from Milan skidded off the runway during landing. This was announced by Tadas Vasiliauskas, a representative of "Lietuvos oro uostai."
"The aircraft, with 179 passengers and 6 crew members on board, went off the runway during landing. There were no injuries," his statement said.
The airport had been closed for three hours. "The consequences of the emergency have been eliminated, and the acceptance and dispatch of flights has resumed as usual," Vasiliauskas noted.
Preliminary estimates suggest that the incident occurred due to adverse weather conditions.
