Closed and Impassable Roads in Armenia, Reports Ministry of Emergency Situations
The rescue service has reported that there are closed and impassable roads within the territory of Armenia. Due to road renovation works, the section of the M-6 highway from Vanadzor to Alaverdi will be closed for buses and trucks with trailers or semi-trailers from now until February 15. A diversion route will be operational through the town of Noyemberyan.
Additionally, the roads from Berd to Chambarak and the mountainous weather stations in the Aragatsotn region leading to the Amberd Fortress and K'ari Lake are closed. The Vardenyats Pass, as well as the Goris-Tatev and Goris-Sisian roads, are closed to trucks due to blizzard conditions and are difficult to navigate for other types of vehicles.
Furthermore, the Stepanavan twists are impassable for heavy trucks, and snowfall has been reported in the section known as 'Meghru mountain' and in the city of Hrazdan.
Regarding Lars, based on information from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations' crisis management center in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is closed for trucks. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
