Vardan Ghukasian Appeals to Members of the 'Public Voice' Faction
The Yerevan City Council's 'Public Voice' faction will not participate in the extraordinary session scheduled for February 7. This was announced by Vardan Ghukasian, who was recently expelled from the aforementioned party.
"The 'Public Voice' faction will not participate and will not provide a quorum for the holding of this extraordinary session. At this moment, there is blackmail and pressure on some council members to ensure that this session takes place at any cost," he stated.
In his statement, Vardan Ghukasian mentioned that if any member of 'Public Voice' succumbs to these threats and joins the upcoming extraordinary session, they will face the utmost condemnation, and their career will end that very day.
"If anyone steps into the City Hall on the 7th for any reason, I promise to make them a political corpse. This session will not take place, period. And those in power who speak the language of blackmail should know that I will personally come after them very soon," said Vardan Ghukasian in his announcement.
It should be noted that the agenda for the February 7 session includes the issue of prematurely terminating the powers of opposition council members. The proposals concern city council members from 'Mother Armenia': Sona Agekyan, Zaruhy Postanjyan, Narine Hayrapetyan, Gevorg Stepanyan, as well as the leader of the 'National Progress' faction, Hayk Marutyan.
