Azerbaijan and Armenia Can Sign Peace in First Half of 2024, Fitch Solutions
Experts from Fitch Solutions, an analytical center that is part of the American ratings agency Fitch Group, have stated that Azerbaijan and Armenia could sign a peace agreement in the first half of this year.
“We believe that a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia could be signed as early as the first half of 2024. We consider it very likely that the agreement will include provisions that will strengthen Azerbaijan's control over the creation of the Zangezur corridor, which leads to the Nakhchivan exclave,” the experts noted in their report.
The Interfax-Azerbaijan news agency cites Fitch Solutions experts, who believe that following Azerbaijan's successful military operations in Karabakh in September 2023, the country has strengthened its regional security in the short and medium term.
