Manuel Petrosyan Becomes Champion of Armenia's Rapid Chess Championship

Grandmaster Manuel Petrosyan has become the champion of Armenia's Rapid Chess Championship, dedicated to the memory of Ashot Anastasian, and has earned the right to participate in the World Rapid Chess Championship. This information was reported by the Armenian Chess Federation.

Grandmasters Manuel Petrosyan, Shant Sargsyan, and Zaven Andriasyan all earned 6 points out of a possible 7, but Manuel Petrosyan clinched the title based on additional tiebreak criteria.

“Vahe Sukiasyan showed the best result among players under 16 years old,” the announcement stated. Among veterans, the best result was achieved by Ashot Nadanian, and among women, it was Anna Khachatryan.
