Forget the Traumas of Hrayr Tovmasyan-Serzh Sargsyan Era: Daniel Ioannisyan

The discussions surrounding constitutional reforms are gaining momentum. This was stated by Daniel Ioannisyan, coordinator of the NGO ‘Informed Citizens Union,’ on his Facebook page.

"I have come to announce that substantive discussions on constitutional reforms will occur weekly, and there is hope that we will finally start discussing the content. There is a vast array of topics regarding the content of the Constitution. There are significant and minor issues that we must decide together with the council and the public. And now, finally, there is hope that our four-year demand will start to be realized, and we will engage with all interested citizens of Armenia to discuss what constitution we want to have. The discussions will be open. We must achieve consensus with the public on every issue so that, in the end, citizens can seal the citizen-state contract through a referendum. I hope that parliamentary and non-parliamentary parties will fill their seats in the council and participate in decision-making.

P.S. Forget the old traumas (of the Hrayr Tovmasyan-Serzh Sargsyan era). There will be no discussions behind closed doors, no secret processes, and the notion of imposing something on citizens by falsifying a referendum is out of the question; that era has passed.
