Passenger Ferry Collides with Cargo Ship in Turkey
A Libyan passenger ferry has collided with a cargo ship near the shores of Istanbul. This was reported by TRT Haber. The incident took place in the Sea of Marmara, near the Yenikapı area. The 147-meter-long ferry, Kevalay Queen, collided with the 103-meter-long cargo ship, Captain Adam, which was sailing under the Tanzanian flag.
No injuries have been reported, and both vessels have been taken to the Akyarport, according to the correspondent. The reasons for the incident are under investigation.
Meanwhile, in the north of Istanbul, in the Çekmeköy district, a passenger bus collided with a truck. According to the governor of the province, Davut Gül, the accident resulted in 19 injuries. One passenger was trapped in their seat and had to be rescued with specialized equipment. The bus driver has been hospitalized in serious condition.
